Radiography Graduates from SCF Earn 100 Percent Pass Rate on National Exam

(Bradenton, Fla., July 10, 2018) — Graduates of the 2018 class from the two-year Radiography Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) took the Radiography National Certification Exam, and all 10 of them passed on their first attempt. This is the fifth consecutive year that all of SCF’s radiography graduates passed the national exam on their first attempt.

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists gave Patrick Patterson, Radiography Program director, the good news. Patterson congratulated the faculty on a job well done in preparing the students for their chosen careers. Students in the program are in classroom and clinical settings as they learn and rotate through several health care facilities within a 45-mile radius of SCF Bradenton.

The Radiography Program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, will offer information sessions on its program on Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.; Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. and Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. Applications for the 2019 school year will be accepted in January. All successful applicants to the Radiography Program must meet the requirements for the Associate in Science degree. Anyone wishing to apply must register and attend a Radiography Program information session as a part of the application process.

The information session is designed to educate prospective students about the radiography program, a career in radiologic technology, and to allow them to meet the program instructors. In Florida, radiologic technologists earn a median salary of $55,210 a year as of May 2017, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
