Biologist to Discuss Mosquito Research and Graduate School at SCF

(Bradenton, Fla., Aug. 23, 2018)— As part of its Bridge to Baccalaureate (B2B) Program, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is hosting a biologist to discuss her research and experience. Aparna Telang, who has a doctorate in Biology and is a professor at University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, will speak Sept. 26 from 5 to 6 p.m. in Room 146 at the Library & Learning Center, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

Telang will talk about her mosquito research and its significance. She also will talk about the benefits of graduate school. The event, which is free and open to the public, is designed to get students interested in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields. It is part of SCF’s B2B program and is funded through a National Science Foundation grant.
