Panel at SCF Venice to Discuss Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 9, 2018)— State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host a panel discussion on sexual harassment in the workplace from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Selby Room, Building 800 at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The discussion is sponsored by SCF’s diversity committee and is free and open to the public.

The #MeToo movement has brought issues of sexual assault and sexual harassment into focus, making this a timely and important topic. Nicolette Mason, speech communication faculty, will moderate the panel discussion. Speakers include David R. Preston, partner and shareholder of the Sarasota law firm of Dickenson and Gibbons; Kristen M. Foslid, supervisory trial attorney with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for the Miami District; and Christine Sensenig, partner with the Sarasota Labor and Employment Law firm of Hultman Sensenig + Joshi.

Guest speakers will offer an overview of sexual harassment, and will discuss who investigates a sexual harassment claim, recent legal decisions concerning the issue and how to prevent harassment in the workplace. A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion.
