Delegation from Japan Studies SCF Business Model

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 24, 2018)—A delegation from universities across Japan visited State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Wednesday, Oct. 24, to learn about how the college operates and collaborates with universities throughout Florida.

Delegates were particularly interested in enrollment, fundraising, strategic planning and communication among SCF’s stakeholders. The delegation, made up of nine executives from seven private universities across Japan, included:

  • Osamu Setokuma, chair of the board of trustees, Chiba Institute of Technology.
  • Seishi Tashiro, deputy director general, Chiba Institute of Technology.
  • Kensaku Hata, deputy director, general affairs, Chiba Institute of Technology.
  • Tsutomu Nagano, section chief, strategic planning, Chuo University.
  • Koji Nagashima, assistant chief administrative officer, general planning department, Kwansei Gakuin University.
  • Kenichi Akaji, vice president/professor, department of medicinal chemistry, Kyoto Pharmaceutical University.
  • Kenji Kishigami, general manager, financial division, Meji University.
  • Kazuhiko Osaki, auditor, Teikyo University.
  • Shinji Oba, administrative director for financial planning, financial affairs division, Waseda University.

Graduates of these schools include prime ministers, CEOs, doctors, engineers, anime directors, actors, and video game and game console designers.
