Reflect on the “Many Moods of Christmas” at SCF

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 13, 2018) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) music ensembles will usher in the holiday season with a reflection on “The Many Moods of Christmas” as the SCF Bradenton Symphony Orchestra, the SCF Choirs and the guitar ensemble perform a variety of holiday music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W.

The evening will feature “The Many Moods of Christmas” for choir and orchestra, a piece arranged by Robert Shaw. The choir, directed by Melodie Dickerson, and orchestra, directed by Robyn Bell, will perform many Christmas favorites from “Angels We Have Heard on High,” to “Silent Night.” Other songs include, “Patapan,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “The First Noel,” and “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing.”

The SCF Guitar Ensemble, directed by Rex Willis, will play Bach’s “Fugue in C Minor,” “Away in a Manger,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Christmas Time is Here,” and “Ding Dong Merrily on High.”

Ticket holders are invited to a reception and music discussion at 6:30 p.m. in The Gallery at SCF adjacent to the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center lobby. Light refreshments will be served.
