SCF Faculty Lecture to Examine Gender Inequity

(Bradenton, Fla., March 12, 2019)The next lecture of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Faculty Lecture Series will take a critical look at gender inequity in the workplace, higher education, medicine and politics at 2 p.m. Mar. 14 in Building 27, Room 105, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., and via simulcast in Building 400, Room 417, SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The lecture is free and open to the public.  

Jennifer Bieselin, associate professor, speech communication, will present “The 51% Minority: From Lower Wages to Memes and Misogyny, Gender Inequity Persists in the 21st Century.” The lecture will examine a range of research and provide real-life examples of how gender inequity is manifested within society, culture and institutions. Bieselin will also offer practical solutions for combating gender disparity.
