SCF Hosts Free Seminar “Passport for Leadership Success” July 31

(Bradenton, Fla., July 18, 2019) – Distinguished author and human resources professional Margaret “Peg” Beck will host a seminar focused on leadership development at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Wednesday, July 31, from 3-4:30 p.m. at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. The free and open to the public seminar, titled “Passport for Leadership Success,” will be held in the Library and Learning Center, Room 143.

Beck will speak on several topics covered in her recently published book, “Life Lessons: A Passport for Personal and Professional Success.” Beck’s experience learning to foster leadership in herself and others comes from a career of more than 25 years as a chief human resources officer. More than half of that time was spent at SCF as executive director of human resources.

Attendees will learn the common traits of successful leaders, how to adjust when faced with change and techniques leaders use to convert failure into success through perseverance. Beck will also address the roles creativity and appreciation play in leadership.

“Life Lessons: A Passport for Personal and Professional Success” will be available for sale at the seminar, with a portion of proceeds benefitting SCF Foundation’s Peg and Derry Beck Commitment to Excellence Leadership Institute Fund. Beck will sign copies of the book following the seminar.

All attendees will receive a certificate of participation. Please RSVP by July 29 to PresidentsOffice@SCF.edu.
