The Bradenton Summer Winds to Present “Music to Move the Spirit” at SCF

(Bradenton, Fla., July 18, 2019)The Bradenton Summer Winds will present “Music to Move the Spirit” at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Monday, Aug. 12, 7:30 p.m. in the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center, Building 11 East, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. This free concert features music celebrating the sacred texts of varying religions performed by an ensemble made up of members of the Manatee Community Concert Band and the SCF Symphonic Band.

“Music to Move the Spirit” includes tunes from Broadway’s “Jesus Christ Superstar,” Jewish folk tunes, and traditional hymns like “Amazing Grace.” The Bradenton Summer Winds will also perform the band transcription of Carl Orff’s composition based on the ancient monk writing “Carmina Burana.” The show features special guest soloist Alejandro Guardia performing Joseph Horovitz’s “Euphonium Concerto.”
