Collegiate School Students Complete Leadership Development Program

(Bradenton, Fla., August 8, 2019)Ten students enrolled at State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) Bradenton completed Junior Leadership Manatee (JLM), a leadership development program designed to enhance their knowledge of community resources, current issues and other factors influencing the direction of Manatee County's future.

JLM is open to high school juniors who have an interest in civic engagement and community affairs. The program is comprised of six monthly sessions that give participants a first-hand look at business, government, agriculture, industry and the media. Students met with community leaders and discussed issues, ideas and concerns, while learning about career and employment opportunities available in Manatee County.

SCFCS Bradenton is a public charter school serving grades six through 12. The unique dual enrollment program at SCFCS presents an opportunity for students to complete an associate degree at the same time they receive their high school diploma.
