PTA Graduates from SCF Earn 100 Percent Pass Rate on National Exam

(Bradenton, Fla., Aug. 15, 2019) Graduates of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE). Every SCF PTA graduate has passed the exam for four consecutive years and the 2019 graduates scored higher than the exam’s national average score of 660.6, posting a mean scaled score of 682.3.

Once licensed, PTA graduates enter a high-demand field.  The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists Florida among the top states for the highest employment levels of PTAs. Florida’s average annual salary for PTAs is $61,650, exceeding the national average.

SCF’s PTA program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, requires rigorous coursework and has limited enrollment. Applications will be accepted Jan. 1-March 1 for students wishing to enter the program in Fall 2020.
