SCF to Host Information Sessions for Educator Preparation Institute

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept, 6, 2019)The Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host five information sessions for individuals interested in earning a professional teaching certificate. The program is for anyone with a bachelor's degree in a noneducation major and teachers with temporary certificates.

During these free one-hour sessions, attendees will learn about the application process, curriculum and courses, and program requirements. EPI offers blended evening classes with online components one night a week over two semesters to make participation accessible to working professionals. The cost for the EPI program is about $3,180, including tuition, fees, textbooks and certification exams.

Upon completing the EPI program and successfully passing required state exams, graduates are eligible for the Florida Department of Education's professional teaching certificate.
