SCF Offers Florida Home Inspection Course

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 19, 2019)State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will offer an applied home inspection course taught by professional home inspection trainers in partnership with American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT). Classes will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., September 27-29 in Building 18, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th Street W. Registration is $1,495 per person.

The course provides a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on experience, including two field inspections. It also provides information about the software, reporting forms and necessary tools used in the profession. Completing the course is the first step in becoming a licensed home inspector in Florida.

AHIT’s instructors will cover limited visual examination of the structure, interior and exterior components, site conditions that affect the structure and roof covering. Key infrastructure items prospective inspectors will be taught to examine include electrical systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing.

The step-by-step process is designed to make the home inspection business easy to understand and prepares students for the Florida Home Inspector Exam, a prerequisite for obtaining a license.
