SCF to Offer Sneak Peek of “Parrish After Dark” Program at Parrish Y

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 31, 2019)State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host a free and open to the public “Parrish Sneak Peek,” a preview of the 2020 “Parrish After Dark” program, at the Parrish Y, 12214 U.S. 301 N., Tuesday, Nov. 5, 10:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sample classes will be offered in a series of 45-60 minute sessions. SCF staff will be available between sessions and from 1:30-6:00 p.m. to answer questions, offer advice and share information about the College, including financial aid opportunities.

Courses offered during the early session of “Parrish Sneak Peak” include “Choosing the Right Day Care,” “Difficult Conversations,” “Excel Essentials,” “Facilitating Successful Meetings” and “Tips for Successful Retirement.” The evening session features “Social Media 101,” Motivating the Team You Lead,” “Techniques to Improve Memory” and “Understanding Financial Aid: FAFSA.”

“Parrish After Dark” is a series of professional and personal development offerings for the Parrish community which will be offered in Spring 2020. College credit will not be offered for these courses. Topics covered in the courses will include leadership, professional development, computer classes and foreign languages. The class offerings were selected by SCF after consultation with the Parrish Civic Association, the Parrish Y, the Parrish Foundation and local focus groups.
