SCF Theatre Presents Joshua Harmon’s “Significant Other”

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 5, 2019)State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Theatre presents Joshua Harmon’s comedy “Significant Other” at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 and Nov. 22, Saturday Nov. 16 and Nov. 23, and a pair of 2 p.m. Sunday matinees Nov. 17 and Nov. 24, at the David S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatre, Building 11 West, Room 163, SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. Reserved seats are $15 for the general public, $10 for SCF employees and $8 for SCF students.

“Significant Other,” directed by Amanda Schlachter, follows Jordan Berman on his quest to find “Mr. Right.” As he waits to find his "significant other," Jordan is surrounded by his three best girlfriends. As each of his besties finds love and marriage, he is confronted with the possibility of being alone and adopting a supportive role in his friends’ matrimonial adventures. The New York Times described the play as “a tenderly unromantic romantic comedy, as richly funny as it is heart-stirring.”

The cast includes SCF students Austin Beebe, Noah Cook, Trenton Dixon, Kelsey Fisher, Garrett Hight, Jacob Jones, Eyrelin Laviolette, Easton Laviolette, Michael Longobardi and Luke Sandlin, with understudy Remy Graivshark. SCF alumnus Jalex Scott and local actress Cinda Goeken round out the cast. The technical crew includes students Bianca Antonetty, Savhanna Debaylo, Vance Longobardi and Katie Smith. Lighting and set design are by Craig Smith. Sound design is by Timothy Bourn.
