SCF Offers Class to Become a Certified Production Technician

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 21, 2019)State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will offer a 12-week, exclusively online course for students interested in attaining a Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC). The CPT is a nationally recognized certificate that can be used for employment across all manufacturing sectors.

The course begins Tuesday, Jan. 14. Classes take place 6-10 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday evenings through April 2. The cost is $649, which includes registration with MSSC, four coursebooks and 96 hours of instruction consisting of four modules and four assessments.

Throughout the training, students take MSSC assessments. After passing each assessment, a Certificate of Recognition from MSSC is provided. When all four assessments are successfully completed, the MSSC CPT certification is awarded and the student earns 15 credit hours toward an associate degree in engineering technology, which can be used at any state college in Florida offering that degree program, including SCF.
