SCF Bradenton to Host Collegiate School Information Sessions

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 7, 2020)State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS)-Bradenton will host a series of information sessions for interested students for the 2020-2021 school year.

Families with students entering grades 6-11 can attend an information session at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14 or Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center, Building 11, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. A self-guided tour of the Collegiate School will follow, with students and teachers available to answer questions.

A session hosted exclusively in Spanish will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. in Building 19.

Prospective families with students entering 11th grade specifically should attend an information session at 6 p.m. either Thursday, Jan. 16 or Thursday, Jan. 30, in Building 19.

Applications will be made available following each information session. Rising juniors applying to SCFCS-Bradenton must have a 3.0 unweighted grade-point average and pass the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) before their application will be considered for the lottery. The Collegiate School student services department is available for assistance during this process. There are no academic requirements for entry in grades six through 10. Collegiate School students are selected through random drawings beginning in March.

SCFCS-Bradenton is a tuition-free public charter school. Students in grades 11 and 12 are fully dual-enrolled in college courses and simultaneously complete the requirements for a high school diploma and an associate degree.
