SCF Names Vicki Gillerin as Director of the Traffic Safety Institute

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 15, 2020)State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has named Vicki Gillerin as director of the Traffic Safety Institute (TSI). In this position, Gillerin coordinates and oversees the institute’s programming in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota and Venice. TSI offers many types of driver’s education, including basic and advanced driver improvement, the first-time driver course and the DUI programs and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle’s Special Supervision program.

“Our number one goal is to offer services that promote community safety,” said Gillerin. “I hope to strengthen our collaborative partnerships with local government organizations to ensure our shared clients are successful in completing TSI programs.”  

Before she became director, Gillerin worked with TSI as a DUI instructor. She also served as a senior probation officer for Manatee County, where she monitored probationers, supervised probation officers and acted as the training officer for the probation division.

Gillerin earned a master’s degree in agency counseling with a specialization in chemical dependency from Rhode Island College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Rhode Island.
