Become a Personal Trainer with SCF Workforce Solutions

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 8, 2020) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is offering an online personal training certification course in partnership with the World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.). The program features weekly self-paced modules and concludes with an in-person certification exam Saturday, Dec. 5. To register, visit SCF.edu/CCDenroll and click on the “Fitness Certifications” link in the Health submenu on the left-hand side of the page.

The course curriculum includes short, impactful online videos designed to help participants become successful personal trainers in the fitness industry. The lessons address key core topics related to how the body functions under the stresses of exercise, with an emphasis on physiology, kinesiology, nutrition and more.

Students who successfully complete the course activities and exam receive a Level 1 Certified Personal Trainer credential, useful for finding work right away. W.I.T.S. also offers a supplemental internship program that opens doors to job opportunities.

W.I.T.S. is an approved CEU provider for the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

The course costs $749. Students will also need to purchase a required textbook.
