SCF Photography Instructor Earns Honors from International Organizations

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 12, 2021) State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) photography instructor Peter Gedeon was recently recognized by the Asia Photographers Union (APU) with the Gold Exhibitor of APU (GAPU) title for his impressive record in international exhibitions. In the past year, he participated in 33 international competitions, received 158 acceptances, and 18 different awards, four of which were gold medals.

At the time of Gedeon’s nomination, only 21 other photographers around the world had received the GAPU title. APU also recognized Gedeon’s extensive work with the honorary title of Fellow of APU (FAPU). Gedeon, a faculty member in SCF’s Art, Design and Humanities department, was also recognized by the Campina Photographic Exhibitions Society (CPE) with an honorary title.

All three titles acknowledge Gedeon’s prolific and ongoing impact. Recently, he was invited to send his portfolio to the Asia Photo Festival 2020, held in Singapore, and a piece from his current series, "Planet Ag," was selected into the Asia Best Hundred Collection 2020 book.
