F A Q s:  EAP 0160 Grammar I

 

Upon completion of EAP 0160 Grammar I, you should be able to

  1. Produce simple sentences
  2. Understand and use basic verb tenses
  3. Have control over basic word order

 

Are there any special exams that I must take to succeed in this course?

Yes.  In addition to earning a grade of C or higher, you will need to take the departmental exit exam and pass with at least a 70%.

 

Are there any eligibility requirements for taking the exam?

Yes.  You must have at least a 70% average in the course in order to take the departmental exit exam.

 

How many questions are on the exit exam?

There are 50 questions on the exam, which will be administered by your instructor.

 

Is the exam timed?

Yes.  You must complete the exam during the allotted class time.

 

How do I prepare for the exit exam?

The exam covers all of the information you will learn in class, so it is very important for you to attend every class, pay attention, always do your homework, and ask for help from your teacher or a tutor in the Price Learning Lab if there is anything you don't understand.

 

When do I take the exam?

The exam is usually given during the last week of class at your regular class time.  Your instructor will give you the specific date.

 

When will I receive my exam scores?

Your exam scores will be ready for you at the next class period.

What if my exam score is lower than 70%?

If your score is lower than 70%, you will be given a different form of the exam.  You are allowed only one opportunity to re-take the exam.
