Bradenton, Fla. Oct. 24, 2025
Brent Denison, manager, Performing Arts Center, SCF
Brent Denison was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. He graduated from Southeast High School and then Manatee Community College (now SCF) with an Associate in Arts degree in Theatre Arts. He worked for over two decades in technical crews, stage management and acting in over 60 national and local theatrical productions.
Serving Proudly at SCF
As a proud SCF alumnus, Denison joined SCF as the manager of the Performing Arts Center in October 2021. His role includes oversight and overall management of the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center and operational management of the Studio for the Performing Arts Recital Hall and Howard Studio Theatre.
Denison is honored to share his career experiences and support students’ educational journeys at SCF. He values the college’s feeling of family and pride. He admires how faculty and staff collaborate and share their expertise to help students thrive in the community and on their path to success.
Tommy Tune, a Tony Award-winning performing artist, choreographer and musical director, is a source of inspiration for Denison. Tune once said, “I like a show to unfold and keep presenting itself, surprising you.” Denison links Tune’s philosophy to the surprising talent and imaginative work of the SCF performing arts centers.
Honoring Excellence at SCF
Denison holds a Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in stage management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
He previously worked with many renowned performing artists in Nevada and other world-class venues, including Sally Struthers in Nevada Conservatory Theatre’s “Annie” production, Celine Dion in her “A New Day” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and others at Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena) in Los Angeles, the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater and Capitol Theatre in Clearwater.
Life Outside of SCF
In his free time, Denison enjoys attending live concerts, theatre productions and Greater Tampa Bay-area sporting events. He also loves traveling, especially to the Caribbean islands, which he finds breathtaking.
