Before Classes Begin:

Before your classes start, there are several essential steps that need to be completed.

1. CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION: New students will receive a registration confirmation letter via mail containing your SCF ID number and password to login to MySCF.  Continuing students can verify their registration using MySCF.

2. REQUEST AN SCF ID CARD: If you wish to have a physical SCF ID card, once you have enrolled in classes you may then go to the Public Safety & Security office on any SCF campus. Make sure to bring your state issued ID and Student ID or “G” number to obtain an SCF ID card with your picture on the front.

3. SET-UP YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT: Once you have your SCF ID and password, you can access SCF email services. State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota has designated e-mail as an official method of communication with students regarding topics of an academic or administrative nature.  Upon registration, the college will assign an e-mail account to each student and expects the student to be responsible for all information sent to them via their college e-mail account. Additional information (Student E-mail Policy, E-mail Instructions) on student e-mail accounts may be obtained by the following links:

4. LOGIN TO MySCF: MySCF is your secure, personalized online resource for accessing important information such as your class schedule, tuition bill, grade reports, and transcripts. Students should become familiar with this system as soon as possible.

5. PURCHASE YOUR TEXTBOOKS: Textbooks for your course can be viewed and ordered online through THE SCF STORE.

6. VISIT SCF’s VIRTUAL LIBRARY: Get acquainted with the SCF Library’s online services.

7 TEST YOUR COMPUTER: Computer requirements may vary. Please refer to specific instructions and guidelines related to your program and courses.

8. LOGIN TO CANVAS: Most online courses at SCF are delivered via Canvas, and you can login with your SCF ID and password.
