SCF Collegiate School Announces New Articulation Agreement with New College

Bradenton, Fla. Apr. 8, 2022

(Bradenton, Fla., April 8, 2022) — Graduates of the State College of Florida Collegiate Schools (SCFCS) in Bradenton and Venice can receive a $7,000 per year scholarship to attend New College of Florida as part of a new articulation agreement. SCFCS graduates who achieve a GPA of 3.0 or greater, meet the SAT or ACT score requirements, and complete both their high school diploma and an associate in arts degree are eligible for the scholarship upon acceptance to New College.

Located in Sarasota, New College is legislatively designated as Florida’s honors college for the liberal arts. The college provides an academically rigorous environment, something the dual-enrolled students of SCFCS are well prepared for upon graduation.

“We are proud of this new opportunity for our Collegiate School graduates and thankful for the time and effort of our colleagues at New College who helped in establishing this agreement,” said Dr. Todd G. Fritch, executive vice president and provost at SCF.

“We are extremely excited to see our students offered a scholarship to complete their bachelor’s degree at one of our state’s exceptional honors colleges,” said Kelly Monod, SCFCS senior head of collegiate schools. “New College’s nearby residential campus, personalized learning environment and stellar academic reputation make it an attractive destination for our highly desirable graduates.”

SCFCS will organize annual New College campus visits for seniors and offer other opportunities for students to learn about the academic programs available.

SCFCS educates students in grades six through 12 in Bradenton and nine through 12 in Venice. Juniors and seniors complete the rigorous full time dual enrollment program as a charter school student. They have the opportunity to complete their associate degree upon their high school graduation. SCF Collegiate Schools offer a dual enrollment program in a nontraditional school setting, with access to academic and college advisors and support through their entire academic careers.
