SCFCS Bradenton Salutes 78 Students in Graduation Ceremony

Bradenton, Fla. May. 9, 2022

(Bradenton, Fla., May 9, 2022) — State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) celebrated the ninth commencement ceremony for its Bradenton campus on Friday, May 6, with 78 students receiving high school diplomas and associate in arts degrees. More than 60% of the graduates maintained an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, and 95% plan to pursue a four-year degree in the fall.

Two dozen graduates were members of the SCFCS Bradenton National Honor Society. The agreement between SCFCS and Florida Gulf Coast University will be utilized by 15 graduates receiving full-tuition scholarships. Twenty-two graduates will be attending the University of South Florida, including five utilizing a scholarship agreement between USF and SCFCS to attend the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.

“I’m proud of the accomplishments our 2022 graduates have achieved and the impressive goals they have set out for their futures,” said SCFCS Head of Collegiate Schools Kelly Monod.

Monod and Melodie Dickerson, director of choral and vocal studies, gave opening remarks. Graduate speakers were Jhonny Lopez-Lopez and Zachary Kronenwetter.

Scholarship and award recipients were:

  • The Graduate Achievement Award: Dilan Desir
  • The Graduate Appreciation Award: Allison Collins and Giamilla Cornejo Cicala
  • The Outstanding Graduate Award: Rayline Waldin

SCFCS Bradenton 2022 graduates were accepted to nearly 50 colleges and universities, including most Florida public universities. Some graduates also will continue pursuing workforce certificates or bachelor’s degrees from SCF.
