Health Professions Career Expo at SCF Bradenton

Bradenton, Fla. Feb. 22, 2023

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 22, 2023) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host a “Health Professions Career Expo” featuring employers in all the health care fields offered at the college. The expo will take place Monday, Feb. 27, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Library and Learning Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.

SCF offers two-year and four-year degrees, as well as workforce certificates and non-credit training courses in a variety of fields. The college’s health care programs include dental hygiene, health care administration, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy and radiography. SCF graduates are among the most successful in the state passing the essential certification exams for entering these high-demand fields.

The event is a culmination of SCF’s monthlong recognition of Career and Technical Education Month. CTE Month is a time to recognize the key workforce areas where growth is needed to support the Florida’s expanding economy, including the health care sector. Florida’s population has rapidly expanded in recent years, and data from the 2020 U.S. Census shows SCF’s service region growing at a much faster rate than the state’s overall growth. Caregivers and support staff for medical facilities are among the most critically needed employees in the local workforce.
