Discover What’s Possible in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math. The STEM Area of Interest Community at SCF helps you build skills, gain experience, provide resources, and connect with mentors to advance your goals.
Opportunities:
SCF students can engage in hands-on activities that deepen their STEM knowledge while also providing exposure to real-world experiences and connections in the STEM field beyond the classroom. Additionally, students will
- Receive dedicated STEM course and career advice
- Obtain tutoring from faculty and peer mentors
- Participate in Internships and Research
- Acquire Peer mentor Leadership
- Annual STEM conferences and workshops
- Business and university tours
SCF Students Have:
- Engaged with researchers at conferences and undergraduate research programs
- Conducted research at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium
- Studied seagrass ecosystems in Sarasota Bay
- Participated in projects involving robotics and renewable energy
- Created their own virtual reality
- Coded and flown drones.
