SCF Board of Trustees Report: June 24, 2025

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees (BOT) held its regular monthly meeting on June 24.

The board heard presentations on:

  • President’s Report – Tommy Gregory, J.D., president, SCF.
  • Dual Enrollment/Early College Presentation – Heather Shehorn, dean, academic success and early college programs.
  • Facilities Hurricane Recovery Efforts Update – Rebecca Ferda, director of business operations, SCF.
  • FY 2025-26 Operating Budget – Julie Jakway, senior vice president of finance and administrative services, SCF.
  • SCF Foundation Update – SCF Foundation 2023-24 Annual Audit and 990: Cassandra Holmes, vice president of advancement and executive director, SCF Foundation.

The board approved:

  • Nonfinancial and financial consent agenda items.
  • Miscellaneous Capital projects based on condition assessments, programmatic needs, and the college’s Capital Improvement Plan, including $600,000 for SCF Bradenton Building 19 Collegiate School HVAC upgrade; $500,000 for SCF Bradenton Building 26 roof replacement; $250,000 for SCF Lakewood Ranch campus HVAC controls upgrade; and $200,000 for SCF Bradenton Howard Theatre audio system replacement.
  • A contract in the amount of $511,046 with Willis Smith Construction for Nursing auditorium renovations in building 29 at SCF Bradenton.
  • A three-year contract in the amount of $1,364,448 with Yellowstone Landscape for landscape maintenance at SCF Bradenton.
  • A contract with Belfor Property Restoration and BMS CAT, LLC to provide Disaster Recovery and Remediation Services.
  • The 2025-26 college budget.

The next board meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on September 30, 2025, at SCF Bradenton.
