SCF Jazz Heads Back to the Roaring ‘20s by Presenting Postmodern Juke Joint

Bradenton, Fla. Mar. 10, 2022

(Bradenton, Fla., March 10, 2022) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Jazz Ensemble pays tribute to the retro innovations of Postmodern Jukebox with a new twist on modern classics at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W., Building 11 East. General admission tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at SCF.edu/Neel, while tickets for students and staff are $5 at the door.

Postmodern Jukebox is a rotating musical collective known for adapting popular modern songs into vintage genres like swing and jazz. SCF Jazz will pay homage to this method by giving modern rock classics from the likes of Sting, U2 and Billy Joel a Roaring ‘20s twist. If you have ever wondered what Motown would have sounded like in 1920, this show will present a possible answer.
