Housed in the Creative Studio of the 26 West Center, the newest component of SCF’s longstanding Music Program includes the latest music production technology and a state-of-the-art recording studio. Dr. Pete Carney, program chair for the A.S. in music production, designed and built the Music Production Center. It boasts professional-grade equipment, including Neumann microphones, 10 Mac workstations, and a 2-screen Slate Raven mixing and mastering console, complete with preamps from Neve, Solid State, and API. Some of the equipment is similar to that used by Abbey Road and other famous studios. The facility also features top-notch acoustic treatment and studio lighting, creating an ideal environment for students to explore, create and collaborate as musicians and audio engineers. The open house will feature a live audience recording session of the SCF Jazz Combo and the opportunity for guests to mix and interact with an original 32 track studio recording project by Billie Eilish. Light refreshments will be served.

The Bradenton Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Rex Willis, will present their season finale, “High Voltage.”  The concert will feature several world premieres with unique collaborations between the orchestra, the SCF Film Program and soloists, including Carney on saxophone and Dr. Jonathan Smith on electric guitar.
