Sarasota / Venice: (941) 487-7400

Please note that this is not an 8-hour Aggressive Driving Course or the 8-hour Driving While License Suspended or Revoked (DWLSR) Course.  If you are not sure whether you should sign up for this course, we recommend that you contact the court to find out if you are supposed to attend an 8-hour traffic school (IDI) course.

This course can be taken by anyone who has been ordered by a Florida judge or court to attend an 8-hour traffic school course.  In some counties, mainly Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Orange, this course is called Intermediate Driver Improvement (IDI).  The IDI course can be taken if a driver has already attended a 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement course within the previous year and the court has given that driver an option to attend an 8-hour course to keep points off for a recent traffic violation.

Court-ordered courses are not directly regulated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and are approved on a court-by-court basis. As the State of Florida does not directly regulate 8-hour courses, we encourage students to secure acceptance of this online 8-hour course by the court with jurisdiction over their case prior to beginning the course.
