Step 1: Determine if you are eligible

Determine with your parent/legal guardian if you’re eligible for the Early College/Dual Enrollment Program. Be sure you meet the minimum unweighted cumulative high school GPA and test score requirements.

Step 2: Apply for admission

Please email the Early College office for an application.  earlycollege@scf.edu

Step 3: Submit placement testing results

Students must submit official college placement scores in Reading, Writing and Mathematics to enroll in college credit courses. Approved tests include the ACT, SAT, and PERT (Florida’s Postsecondary Education Readiness Test). Scores may not be more than 24 months old. PERT Testing for Early College purposes may be taken only once per term and twice per calendar year.

Students can request their SAT scores from the College Board:  https://studentscores.collegeboard.org/home

Information regarding ACT scores can be found on the ACT website:  http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/your-scores/send-your-scores.html

SCF’s school code for ACT is 0741 and SAT is 5427. Students can use this to ensure scores/transcripts are sent directly to SCF.

If you don't have ACT or SAT scores, schedule a testing appointment to take the PERT at the SCF – Assessment and Testing Center

Step 4: Submit Home School Articulation Agreement

An articulation agreement is required each academic year. PDF copies of the agreement are available for download in the See Also… section to the right.  Please email signature page to earlycollege@scf.edu

Step 5: Submit Homeschool Enrollment Letter

A dated Homeschool Enrollment Letter from the student’s county of residence is required for each school year (August-July) the student participates in the Early College Program. Please email letter to earlycollege@scf.edu

Step 6: Fill out Early College Course Approval Form

Each semester, please complete the SCF Early College Course Approval Form. PDF copies of the form are available for download in the See Also… section to the right.  Please email forms to earlycollege@scf.edu.  Once submitted,  the hold will be lifted and the student can register for classes.  Please note: holds are placed back on the student's account after the deadline date.

Step 7: Register for classes

Upon satisfactory completion of the previous steps, registration will be available to you through the SCF Portal. You may register only for courses that have been approved. ** Registering for courses which have not been approved may result in tuition being owed by the student via the Enrichment Program **
Please complete and print the Course Approval form for the HS counselor, parent and student signatures.

Step 8: Get instructional materials for courses

Please email earlycollege@scf.edu for procedures. Please no phone calls or no walk-ins.
