How to Register

Registration Requirements

In order to register, students must have completed the admissions process with the following documents on file in the Office of the Registrar:

  • SCF application for admission;
  • Florida residency statement and documentation;
  • official high school transcript, or GED test scores, if required;
  • official college transcript, if applicable; and
  • placement test scores, if required.

Registration Holds

A student record may have a hold that prevents registration for classes. Typical reasons for a hold include financial obligations to the College or an incomplete student file.

To find out what type of hold is on a record, students can view holds via the Student Profile under the MySCF portal.

Selecting Courses

It is essential that students select their courses carefully, ensuring that coursework fulfills the requirements of their selected degree or certificate program. College and Career Success is available to assist students in planning a program of study that meets their educational and career goals. Additionally, students can self-asses using Degree Works.

Registration Questions

What is Go Live?

Go Live with SCF Online is the live version of an online course. This instructional method allows you to meet with your instructor and classmates at specified dates and times to receive instruction from the comfort of your own home or another remote location. When registering or working on your schedule this instructional method will be labeled “SCF Live.”

Are SCF Go Live/SCF Live classes on campus?

No, SCF Live classes are online classes on the e-campus. The schedule will have a date and time but no room or building.

What about attendance policies?

Attendance policies are decided by the professor in the same manner as a face to face class, so check your syllabus.

What do I do if I cannot make it to class?

Email your professor, just as you would in a face-to-face class.

Why were adjustments made to my schedule?

In order to provide additional delivery options to students, in response to survey results, we have made changes in the way some courses are being offered in the fall. These changes include the new instructional method SCF Live. Please make sure to check your schedule via the MySCF portal to see if any classes have been changed. Feel free to adjust your class schedule now. If you are looking for a specific modality (traditional, blended, online or SCF Live), continue to monitor the schedule for additional seats or sections to be added. We encourage you to use the wait list function to “claim” your spot in line.

Can I change my schedule?

Yes, if you would prefer another instructional method you may go into the registration system and register for a different class. If you do not see the instructional method you prefer check back frequently because SCF is adding additional sections in all instructional methods to meet student needs.

Can I search for new classes being provided in my preferred instructional method only?

Yes, when searching for a new class you can indicate your preferred instructional method and search for classes delivered in that manner.

What can I do if I still have questions about my schedule?

You can still schedule an appointment with an SCF Success Coach, or contact the College and Career Success office by calling 941-752-5000, texting 941-787-5561 or emailing CollegeandCareerSuccess@SCF.edu.
