SCF’s Refund Policy

At State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), we understand that plans change. Here’s what you need to know about which fees are refundable, how refunds work, and what to do if you need to request one.
Nonrefundable Fees
The following fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances:
- Application fees
- Deferred examination fees
- Documentation and transcript fees
- Duplicate diploma fees
- Graduation and ID card replacement fees
- Insurance fees
- Late and reinstatement fees
- Returned check fees
- Testing and web access fees
- Inactive BankMobile card replacement fees
Refunds During the Add/Drop Period
If you drop a class before the end of registration (posted add/drop period), you are eligible for a 100% refund of tuition and course-related fees, minus any nonrefundable fees.
How to Drop a Class for a Refund:
- Log in to MySCF.
- Drop the course.
- Submit the changes online before 11:59 p.m. on the last day of registration.
Refunds will be issued through BankMobile, SCF’s refund partner. If your tuition was paid using financial aid, your refund will go back to the aid program that paid it.
Note: Accelerated or short-term courses may have different refund deadlines. Be sure to check your course-specific dates.
Refunds After the Add/Drop Period
If you withdraw after the registration deadline, you are not eligible for a refund, except under specific, documented circumstances:
College Error Refunds
You may request a refund if you can prove a documented College error caused your course withdrawal. These requests must:
- Be submitted no later than the end of the following semester.
- Include clear documentation of the SCF error.
- Be submitted to the Financial Aid Office at SCF Bradenton or SCF Venice.
All refund petitions will be reviewed by the SCF Refund Committee, and all decisions are final.
Fee Waiver for Medical Withdrawals
If you had to withdraw from a course due to a sudden illness or incapacity that required five or more consecutive days of hospitalization, you may be eligible for a fee waiver to retake the course.
To request a fee waiver:
- Submit a refund petition.
- Include hospital admission and discharge documentation.
- Turn it in to the Financial Aid Office at SCF Bradenton or SCF Venice.
